The Remarkables is one of the best skiing resorts in the Queenstown region of the south island of New Zealand. This region is the most popular skiing destination in the country as there are four major resorts to choose from. There is no on snow accommodation at the Remarkables so you have to stay in nearby Queenstown. This should not be a problem as Queenstown has a really wide range of quality accommodation ranging from backpacker level right through to the best hotels, apartments and resorts. There is a regular shuttle bus service that operates to take you to the ski area and this runs regularly every half hour. It will pick up from the door of your accommodation and deliver you back again in the afternoon.

The road to the Remarkables is a thrill ride in its own right. The unsealed road is cut into the side of the mountain with a huge drop off into the river far below. It is certainly not for the faint hearted. The views, however, are absolutely spectacular. When you reach the top you will be rewarded by spending a day in a fantastic ski resort. There is a really good restaurant and service area with ski school and a ski hire with all the latest gear. The mountain has two main areas, both serviced by plenty of lifts. One area services the beginners to intermediate skiers and the other the intermediate to advanced levels. It is popular with skiers and snowboard riders alike. The Remarkables is a fantastic place to spend a days skiing close to the accommodation in Queenstown so why not give the Remarkables a go on you next skiing holiday.
